"One, Two, Three"

Being one of the fastest-moving comedies made in the 1960s, "One, Two, Three" (Wilder, USA 1961) is not familiar to the Bulgarian audience. At the time the film was shot, the Berlin crisis culminated in the erection of the Berlin Wall in 1961, leaving not only Germany but the entire world devastated and not ready to laugh at that particular scenario. Only after its re-release in 1985, and especially after the fall of the Berlin Wall (1989), the movie became a favorite with audiences who were now ready to poke fun at the absurdities of the "Cold War". The screening of the film and the subsequent discussion were part of the educational program both in American Studies and in courses geared at professional writing whereby English major students wrote reviews and articles on the movie.

"1968: Youth Release"

The screening and discussion of the 21st episode of the BBC People's Century documentary series (1999) 1968: NEW RELEASE, which focuses on youth rebellion, 60s-style, at a time when new music, styles and ideas defied the older generation was part of the Introduction to American Studies film series.
